Burkhalter Law Firm was founded by trial attorney David A. Burkhalter, II.
Mr. Burkhalter earned his law degree from the University of Tennessee in 1976, graduating in the top three percent of his class.
He was a member of the Tennessee Law Review, as well as involved in a variety of student and community organizations during law school.
He represents employees, injured parties and/or their families, people defrauded, and whistleblowers fighting fraud against the government for decades. He is an experienced trial attorney who’s not afraid of presenting a case before a judge or jury.
Mr. Burkhalter is renowned as a respected trial lawyer. His entire career has been dedicated to helping individuals, and there is very few attorneys that can match his experience and results.
Accomplishments
Mr. Burkhalter is certified in Tennessee as a Civil Trial Specialist and and he is listed in Martindale-Hubbell as an AV peer rated, Preeminent Attorney—the highest rating possible. Mr. Burkhalter is also certified in Civil Trial Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy
Mr. Burkhalter has recovered millions of dollars on behalf of his clients and helped right numerous wrongs through litigation and by jury verdict. He is a protector of the little guy and is proud of the results he has achieved for his clients.
Mr. Burkhalter was awarded the Justice Joseph W. Henry Award for Outstanding Legal Writing by the Tennessee Bar Association in 1995. In addition to being a member of the Knoxville, Tennessee, and American Bar Associations, the Trial Lawyers for Public Justice, the Tennessee Association for Justice, the National Employment Lawyers Association, and Taxpayers Against Fraud, Mr. Burkhalter is also a member of the Trial Lawyers for Public Justice.
